Cover Genius is a global Insurtech with a vision to protect all the customers of the world’s largest online companies. Partners such as Booking.com, Intuit Quickbooks, eBay, Shipstation and AXS have integrated XCover, our insurance distribution platform that enables companies in a wide range of industries to sell or distribute any line of insurance in any country.


POSITION: Business Development Head(s) for offices in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines


OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE


To head business development and enable partnerships across sectors for Cover Genius (a tech enabled Global InsurTech company with worldwide footprints spanning across APAC, UK, USA, Europe and India and having global online partners like Booking.com, Shopee, Amazon, eBay, ETraveli.


The person would own everything right from creation and executing on a deal pipeline, product co-creation with partners to the structuring of optimal commercial terms.


The ideal candidate must have his/her own network in the industry/country and would be responsible to build deep strategic partnerships across different industries for offering embedded and innovative insurance products via Cover Genius platform.


This is a challenging role but paves a path for an individual of becoming a country manager in long term.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Work with Partnerships Director to Identify, develop, structure and close complex partnership deals with target partner organisations

  • Apply your industry experience to identify and guide potential partners in understanding and solutioning Cover Genius technology and platform

  • Leverage industry expertise to nurture a network of influential decision makers within key target organisations within your sector

  • Work in cross-functional teams to ensure pitches to prospective partners are delivered effectively with clarity on the product solution

  • Assist in the on-boarding of new partners with our locally based Client Solutions Engineering team post deal closure, ensuring timely delivery of solutions that meet or exceed client expectations

  • Grow the Cover Genius brand within the country through representation at industry events and broader networking.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • 8+ years of industry experience, with a focus on strategic partnerships, business or corporate development

  • Strong network and successful track record with excellent deal negotiation and commercial structuring skills is highly regarded

  • Experience in strategy development and execution, with a proven capability and passion to lead cross functional teams

  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional teams (Incl. engineering, product and finance) to deliver high quality outcomes

  • Previous exposure to start up or tech focused business models is beneficial

  • Demonstrated track-record for meeting and exceeding revenue targets and performance driven KPIs

  • Bilingual capability of English and local language is a must; Appetite and enthusiasm for working as part of a small collegial team that is not afraid of getting their hands dirty and supporting each other

  • Knowledge of the sector specific insurance industry and product set is highly regarded, although not mandatory
