The Alumni Association of AIM, Inc. (AAAIM) wishes Mr. Manuel R. Gaerlan, MM 2002, success in his new role as the first Chief Marshal of the Office of the Judiciary Marshal.
On Monday, March 10, 2025, the Supreme Court appointed retired Brigadier General Manuel Gaerlan as the inaugural Chief Marshal of the Office of the Judiciary Marshal. This newly established office is dedicated to enhancing the protection of judges, court personnel, and judiciary properties nationwide in response to escalating security threats against the judiciary.
As Chief Marshal, General Gaerlan will spearhead initiatives to strengthen the security framework within the judicial system, including the deployment of security measures, intelligence gathering, and coordination with law enforcement agencies to prevent and address threats. His appointment underscores the Supreme Court’s commitment to upholding judicial independence and ensuring a safe environment for the administration of justice.
Gaerlan graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in 1985 and was recognized as one of the three most awarded cadets of the academy since 1905, receiving 13 awards during graduation, including the Presidential and Prime Minister Saber for being No. 1 among 211 cadets.
He also holds a master's in management (with distinction) from the Asian Institute of Management in 2002.
Thank you for keeping the flame of AIM alumni leadership alive, as we wish you continued success in all your endeavors.
