Mr. Pi-Chuan Chen, MM 1995 President, AIM Alumni Association Taiwan Chapter

Benefited from the awful experiences of SARS in year 2003, Taiwan had no significant community lockdown, school closure and work from home during containing the Covid-19 diseases. Even though, the disease has caused us adverse impacts on daily life and the economy. Therefore, it should be regarded as a common enemy of the global community and be eliminated via cooperation worldwide.
We concluded the following measures taken in Taiwan, which led to the satisfactory results in the passed five months:
1. Quick actions and effective policy to contain the disease 2. Single and professional commanding authority 3. Successful management of anti-epidemic substances 4. Public’s buy-in and strictly following the government policy 5. Technology aided medical system and quarantine control 6. Transparent and instant public information.
It must be of great benefit to have all countries shared their experiences, whether it is successful or a failure. Let’s keep on learning from each other to do things perfectly.
God bless all who suffered from the disease.
