Message from Ms. Rachana Seng, MDM 2016 Chairperson, AIM Alumni Association Cambodia Chapter

"My little daughter and I have been feeling so bored nowadays. Covid-19 has made her study online at home since Mar 2020. Obviously, I have had a hard time to get her focus on it, to copy the lesson and to get her homework done on time. She’s not yet independent to study alone.
In general, I have been feeling so stressed since I have to cope with her study at night after a full day of tiring work. Currently, I have been employed in a construction company, thus I still go to my office as usual, but of course with a mask, hand sanitizer and alcohol everywhere in the office.
Some of us, in the company, have been raising fund monthly to provide financial support to the frontliners such as doctors and nurses. Others from government sector contribute a part of their salary to Covid-19 Fundraising Organization established by the government. Several companies also offer free food to the frontliners as well.
Cambodia has been well prepared for Covid. The government has prioritized precaution than treatment. Some of this are the following:
1. Many public areas are closed from mid Mar till now such as Schools, KTV, Gym, playground, restaurants, supermarket lift…etc. 2. Most of public services and private companies have been implementing working from home or online. 3. Cambodian citizen sent back from Thailand in Apr were quarantined for 14 days before going to their hometown. 4. Khmer New Year holiday and celebration were cancelled. Employees who took leave during this period were quarantined for 14 days before resuming work. 5. From Jun 2020, restaurants are allowed to open but social distancing are still being implemented everywhere.
