The Alumni Association of AIM, Inc. (AAAIM) has partnered with Atikha, an NGO providing economic and social services for OFWs and their families in partnership with NEDA Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). AAAIM also supported their project called the "Balikabayanihan: Start And Improve Your Business (SIYB) for OFWs and Families.
The project aims to assist the repatriated OFWs by providing business training and connecting them with government agencies that provide funding and other technical assistance.
During the training, our AIM Alumni volunteered to be mentors and guide them through their business plans.
On May 27, SYIB completed its third batch of OFW training in Region IV-A. The closing event was attended by over 70 participants and key representatives from NEDA, DOST, DTI, DA, Landbank, Atikha and the AAAIM.
Dir. Luis Banua, Regional Director of NEDA IV-A and Chairperson of the Committee on Migration and Development graced the event and said “I’d like to thank the mentors from the Alumni Association of the Asian Institute of Management for providing support to our OFW training partners in order to start the process of attaining goals in financial security and resilience.”
The OFWs attended 12 days of business classes spread across six weeks via Zoom.
