AAAIM Leadership Live It Conference and Expo 2019

The Alumni Association of AIM (AAAIM) with the Ayala-AIM Alumni Club (AAAC) held the 2nd run project of the “Leadership, Live It” Conference and Expo with the theme " Entrepreneurship for Inclusive and Value-based Nation Building" last December 06-08 2019 at the Ayala Circuit, Makati City.
AAAIM Chairperson, Ms. Corazon Jimenez, and AAAC President, Ms. Vicky Garchitorena led the ribbon-cutting ceremony and officially opened the expo on December 06, 2019. The conference proper happened on Dec. 07 where the first part of the program was a business case competition “Business and Development Case – The Millennial Perspective”. Students are expected to apply their classroom lessons to real-world situations in business, management, and society.
Ms. Ofel Odilao-Bisnar explained and discussed the mechanics of the business case competition. 15 teams from different colleges and universities participated in the competition. Each team was required to share their opinion on the following topics: 1. What innovative, creative, lead-frogging opportunities (a hidden or undiscovered competitive advantage in the Philippine context) should the government and institutions push/promote and support? 2. How should the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) benefit in the inclusive growth as an induced formula to ensure that the MSMEs benefit from the Build, Build, Build program? Teams from Enderun Colleges, FEU Institute of Technologies, Technological Institute of the Philippines- Manila (2 teams), and Manila Tytana Colleges qualified for the final round.
Each team presented their pitch to the panel of judges namely: Pia Marie Reyes, MBM, Consulting Lead for Organizational Capabilities, Globe Telecom; Renato Constantino, MDM, Executive Director, Purpose Driven Southeast Asia Marc Thomas Ablaza, MBM, Managing Director, The Contemporary Hotel; Antonio Tambunting III, ME, Managing Director, ABBA Insurance Brokers, and Michael Sherwin Macatangay, EMBA, CEO of One A-TEAMS Consultants Singapore.
The team from Technological Institute of the Philippines- Manila (Group 2) bagged 1st Place with members namely: John Lester Lavado, Reynaldo Valenzuela, and Jeremiah Riesgo. 2nd Place is from Enderun Colleges with members Airissh Ramos, Mia Angelica Taeza, and Jose Karlos Asturias who also won the “Best Presenter" award during the competition. 3rd Place is from Technological Institute of the Philippines- Manila (Group 1)with members Karrel Ann Bathan, Joshua Refe, and Ramona Fabillorin. All winners received a certificate, medal, and cash prizes from AAAIM.
The second part of the program was the conference where AAAIM Chairperson, Ms. Corazon Jimenez gave welcoming remarks. AAAC President, Ms. Vicky Garchitorena delivered the closing remarks. The guest speakers were esteemed alumni led by Dr. Eduardo “Edmo” A. Morato, Jr., entrepreneurial educator, Bayan Academy and ACE Center for Entrepreneurship and Management Education Inc. Chairman, and former Dean of the Asian Institute of Management and Prof. Francisco "Jay" M. Bernardo III, Marketing Guru, and digital marketing expert, JAD Group of Companies (JADGC) President, and LET’S GO Foundation (Leading Entrepreneurs Towards Sensing Global Opportunities) Founder.
After the talks, there was a panel discussion participated by Mr. Jose Magsaysay Jr., ME, CEO and President of Potato Corner (Philippines), Mr. Raul Anthony Concepcion, EMBA- Chairman, Concepcion Durables (Condura) Inc., and Maria Teresa Ganzon, ME, Director, Bangko Kabayan, Inc. They also shared their knowledge, insights, and experiences about leadership and management.
The event was hosted by Mr. Greg Atienza, MBM.
Dec. 08 was the last day of the expo, with seven (7) bands performing live on stage to serenade the public. The following bands include The Keon Band, Approaching Zero, Sentido, Nikoy, 9 scoops of Vanilla, Maria E., and Krizzy Clamor.
