During the ceremony, AAAIM and the Bayan Family of Foundations (BFF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Bayan Family of Foundations was formerly known as Bayan Academy, and was started by an outstanding AIM alumnus, a Triple A Awardee and former AIM Dean, the late Dr. Eduardo A. Morato Jr., MBM 1972. His successor as Chairman and CEO is another distinguished alumni, faculty and Triple A awardee, Prof. Jay Bernardo, MBM 1993, and the son of the late Prof. Jun Bernardo. BFF’s intellectual capital and the leadership capabilities of our AIM Alumni network, especially our chapters will advance the shared cause of social entrepreneurship and development in our country.

In his closing remarks, Incoming Chairman, Mr. Felix Tiukinhoy Jr., MBM 1976 said “ I vowed to ensure a fruitful and meaningful year for the alumni network. I thought that the theme for this term is “PANAGHIUSA, BRIDGING ALUMNI, IGNITING SUCCESS. Panaghiusa, is a Visayan term meaning, UNITY. I chose this word as I see and feel the need to unite, connect and reconnect with other alumni and work together. Networking after all, is primary to being an AIM Alumnus.
Our AAAIM will thus focus on the strategic business of "alumni friend-raising". I firmly believe in the value of AAAIM as a pool of engaged professionals in the service of its alumni association and community. Nothing beats the power of kindness and selflessness. Every act of service magnifies the essence of life. The truest purpose of our existence is found in the moments we uplift, support, and inspire those around us. As we extend a helping hand, we discover the joy of making a difference. This is what an AIM ALUMNI stands for."

The event was graced by the presence of Triple A Awardees: Mr. Ruperto Nicdao Jr., MBM 1977, Prof. Jay Bernardo, MBM 1993 and Ms. Sandy Romualdez-Prieto, MDM 1994. AAAIM past chairmen: Benny Araw, MBM 1973, Teddy Villanueva, MBM 1973, Alex Tanwangco, MBM 1973, Lito Yabut, MBM 1979, Mike Macatangay, EMBA 2006 and Corazon Jimenez, MDM 2002.
