Alumni Fund Rasing Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know my donation is used correctly?
AIM SRF is a Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) accredited institution.  It was given an official Donee Institution Status by the Philippine Bureau of Internal Revenue in 2006 (valid for 5 years).  PCNC certifies non-stock, non-profit organizations that meet established minimum criteria for financial management and accountability.

In what ways can I make a donation?

1. Cash
2. Real Property
3. Personal property (shares of stock, art works, vehicles, books)

How do I claim tax benefits?
In the Philippines, corporations qualify for tax incentives when they comply with substantive and procedural requirements which include:
1. The corporate donor must be a BIR-registered taxpayer
2. Donation must be evidenced by legal documents

What are the documents required for claiming tax benefits? Timetable?
1. Deed of Donation and Acceptance (DOD) executed by the donor and the donee corporations
2. Official receipt and Certificate of Donation issued by the donee to the donor

We are required to execute the Deed of Donations and Acceptance within 30 days of receipt of the donation.  The Certificate of Donation must likewise be stamped by the BIR within 30 days.

To meet these statutory guidelines, AIM SRF shall issue an official receipt upon acceptance of the donation and send to the donor the DOD within 7 days.  The Certificate of Donation shall be prepared after the DOD is notarized.  It is therefore important for the donor to return the DOD immediately so that it may be notarized.
