Islamic Leadership in the Changing ASEAN: Fostering Peace and Development

Dear AIM Alumni,

Greetings of Peace!

We are pleased to inform you that on April 27 and 28, 2010, the Asian Institute of Management will be convening a regional conference entitled Islamic Leadership in the Changing ASEAN: Fostering Peace and Development., It will be held at the Holiday Inn Galleria Manila in Ortigas, Pasig.
 
This is being convened together with the Institute for Islamic Understanding Malaysia and the Universitas Paramadina of Indonesia, and through the generous support of the British Embassy Manila and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process. 
 
The Conference will explore current concepts and practice of Islamic leadership in Muslim communities as well as prospects for improvement within the changing ASEAN. Academicians and practitioners involved in Islamic Leadership from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, among others, are expected to attend the 2-day Conference.
 
There is a breadth of topics throughout the Conference to meet your specific expectations and backgrounds. For graduates of the Center for Development Management, you might be interested in sessions focusing on Islamic Leadership and Peacebuilding, Women, Youth, Majority-Minority Issues, and Islamic Leadership for Community Building and Governance. For those involved with Business Management and Corporate work, there will be sessions on Islamic Leadership in Managing Organizations, Business, and in Banking and Finance.

A registration fee of Php 4,000 per participant will be charged to cover attendance in all sessions, lunch and 2 snacks for 2 days, and Conference materials. For those who wish to participate in the Conference without availing of the food at the event, we are charging a registration fee of only Php 500.
 
Travel and accommodation expenses shall be for the account of the participant or the sponsor organization. If you wish for us to arrange for your accommodation at the Holiday Inn Galleria Manila, kindly return the attached reservation form on or before April 19, 2010.
 
We highly encourage early registration as only limited slots are available. The deadline for the confirmation of attendance is April 19, 2010.
